On the 20th of March I requested for all my savings (in my 32 day account) to be transferred to my Cheque account. I distinctly (and on numerous occasions) asked the consultant in the investments department if there would be any additional charges at all (e.g. a transfer fee of some kind). She confidently answered: "No there will be no charges; you are just transferring between two accounts. The amount that you see in your savings account now will reflect in your Cheque account exactly 32 days later." To my surprise - 32 days later (once the transfer had been made) I saw less had been transferred into my Cheque account than I had expected there to be. I wish companies like FNB (who are supposed to look after my money for Pete's sake) could educate their staff or employ more competent staff. Get your facts straight before you so confidently give me answers and then my money in the process!
