I recently received an account from the UIF offices saying that there was an overpayment while I was unemployed. I made an arrangement with the UIF offices to pay it off in payments account to them with the first payment before the end of January 2013. I was able to pay my account in full by the 8th of January 2013 despite my arrangement for paying it off. From then i received Sms's from creditworx saying i still needed to pay my UIF, i requested the UIF offices to send them proof of payment. But I still received the sms's from creditworx, every time I would phone them they keep on saying my account was still outstanding and I would email proof of payment. Today I received another sms and phoned again, for the first time I was told that the UIF account is paid in full but I still owed Creditworx for interest and fees to an amount of R183. And i was told in a very rude manner that I HAVE TO PAY. I will now pay this over as I do not want to be listed on ITC for someone else's mistakes. But I am highly unhappy about the manner that this was handled and I will continue to give this over to the Ombudsman!!! I have FAIS accreditation, RE1 and NCA accreditation, this is illegal!!!
