On the 8th April 2013, I went into FNB Tembisa to make a cash withdrawal with my green SA barcoded ID book. The teller declined the transaction, due to the date of issue on the ID i presented wasn't the same as the ID i opened my account with. I asked to speak to the Branch Manager since my ID was some time ago, only to be told he was not in, i was then referred to the teller supervisor who told me that i can't be assisted and i was asked to leave.
i asked my wife to withdraw the cash from her account, i escorted her to ABSA where she banked. At the bank she was asked to produce her ID, which she did not have on her but presented her drivers license and was granted the cash withdrawal.
I want an explanation, why was I not allowed the same courtesy especially since i am a platinum card holder and business holder.
Shouldn't FNB live up to the TAG line " How can we help you" Not " Sorry we cannot not help you"
