I lodged a claim last year 2012 Oct, for the fallen bash-boards caused by a storm. I was told that a service provider in my area will call. It didnt happen. I made a follow up in Dec 2012, someone came who was not entirely focusing on the damages but everything in the house including cars with nagative remarks. He indicated that he will provide a report to the bank that will be shared with me. No one called from the bank, then I made a follow up in Jan 2013. I was told that I dont qualify for the claim with no clear written reasons. I contested the claim and an evalutor was sent in Feb 2013. He also mentioned the thing that a report will be communicated through the bank. It was also not shared with me, which I got to know about it on the 11 April 2013 when I made another follow up call. I was then told that I do not qualify the claim cause the timber is rotten. I tried to explain that it was rotten cause it has been exposed for a long time after I lodged a claim and SA Homeloans was not interested in my explaination. Take note that every month Im paying towards this insurance, however it cannot assist when I need assistance.
