I had a life insurance policy with 1Lifedirect. I cancelled it in 2011 after getting it in 2009. I paid nearly R400 a month for all that time and when I phoned the call centre to enquire whether I could be refunded the payment I had made I was told that I had forfetied the. When I enquired about the dishonesty of that the reply was "Well you did have life cover for that period". NEVER, NEVER, EVER, EVER take out a policy with 1Lifedirect. If that is the way they handle cancellation I dont what to think about what happens when they have to pay out at death.
