I was sequestrated (declared myself insolvent) on the 10 June 2003, a Pretoria High Court action. At the time I had credit card facilities and cheque accounts with Nedbank. In the past 3 years or so I have had to almost plead with Nedbank to reverse (unannouced) debit orders on my existing debit card account. I assume these amounts (today R5940.60) have something to do with the 2003 accounts. I have emailed and faxed copies of my sequestration on a number of occasions. I have spent an hour on the phone this morning being switched from pillar to post with telehone numbers that do not work and now have to leave a "return my call please" message on the legal departments number. When one has no access to credit facilities (a penance I have been paying for nearly 10 years) unexpected debits of this nature can ruin my budget, and have done.
