I would like the public to be aware of how Nedbank R24 000 from my account this week.
Three years ago I was retrenched, and have been scraping together a meagre existence since then.
I worked in a well paid proffession, and had paid a substantial portion of tax over the years.
I have been awaiting my tax return for over 12 months, and it came in last week. However, the bank saw fit to take the entire R24 000!!!
I had been unable to pay my credit card for about six months, and the cheque account that the money was paid into was overdrawn, yet I had managed to pay into this in December (R3000). During phonecalls from Nedbank legal department i informed them continuously that I was awaiting my tax return to be able to start paying my debts back. I fully intended to begin earnest payments towards my debt, but was also relying on this money to pay other things. Nedbank took the entire amount. I spent over two hours at a Nedbank branch to try and reverse them taking their money off, but was told that the accounts were already with legal, and there was nothing I could do.
I tried to plead to pay off the accounts, which all fell on deaf ears.
Please help!
