Complaint / review / scam report
I have been a nedbank client for the past year and they've been lenient with providing me with a variety of financial services. I have been behind on credit card payments for the past 9 months give or take, but the bank has been taking regular installments called a "set-off" from my linked cheque account. On the 12/12/2013 a debit was incurred on my Cheque Acc for R9000 in respect of a payment for the said credit card. This, after I received an sms saying the account has been handed over to legal and I went to make arrangements to pay R800pm on the credit card. I checked my balance earlier in the day and there was enough money to pay up the credit card as well as my other debt. I paid two accounts other than the credit card and found this set-off has been taken and no reversal could be done. I am now without any money in my account and the bank disregarded the debit orders for my personal loans before the set-off was implemented, making me default on my loans now. I have had other experiences with Nedbank with money that hasn't been taken off when the initial transaction was done because of their banking rules with their merchants. They have inconvenienced me in every way.
