Today I attempted to use my RCS card for a purchase. The purchase was declined twice. I knew that I had credit available, as I had recently made a large payment. When I phoned the call centre, I was told that it is standard practice to block the account after any large payment or purchase. I fully understand this. However, what I do not understand, is that RCS claim they attempted to contact me to verify the transactions. This is a blatant lie. They claim they tried to phone me on the 4th of April (their system supposedly says so), but I DID not receive a single phone call on the date in question. I did receive an sms to notify me of the purchase, but it did not say anything about it needing to be verified.
I find this approach totally unsatisfactory. They claim to have phoned me, why did they not leave a voice mail, or try to phone again? Now I have to be embarrassed in front of a store clerk, when my card is declined.
Please don't even bother responding, because I know it will be the usual "oh we are sorry blah blah blah." Not interested in your excuses.
