I visited the Standard Bank Fourways branch mid August to close my Student Achiever account as it was no longer required. The balance was transfered to my new account and the consultant assured my the Student account was closed. The account was removed from my internet banking profile and so I assumed all was well.
Upon using my mobile banking app however, I can see that the Student account is however STILL OPEN and is accruing an overdraft charge (nevermind that the account never had an overdraft facility). I have requested assistance numerous times by email and telephonically but no-one ever gets back to me.
Can someone please resolve this! I will not be hold responsible for staff negligence nor will I allow my credit record to be impacted by this growing overdraft.
