Thursday 28 March I tried to withdraw money from a Standard Bank ATM and got the error 'Daily Limit Exceeded', immediately after I received an SMS that said the money was withdrawn. After spending R130 worth of airtime on trying to get through to their supposed help line, I finally got through to a person who told me that the money was not withdrawn, yet the statement showed that it was out of my account. I tried calling back to no avail... The 29th being a public holiday meant I had to wait till the 30th to go into the bank. Visiting the menlyn branch was as useless as phoning in. I am being told by the lady at inquiries that have to wait 12 working days to get my OWN money back! Then taken to the manager I was told that it would take at least 15 working days (Standard Bank has a national problem). Thanks to Standard Bank and their non existing capabilities I am unable to pay my rent. I would just like to say to Standard Bank:
1. When speaking to a client - GET your facts straight, is it 12 or 15 days? Make up your minds.
2. You are working with peoples money - meaning that you are working with peoples lives!
3. I will make sure everyone knows about your non existing services!
