I applied for the Prestige banking account in the 1st week of Feb at the Sunninghill branch. I was told by the consultant James Simpson that my cards will take 2 weeks. I get a call on the 25th of March to say my cards are ready to be collected. i go to the bank on the 30th of March to pick my cards. I was issued only a credit card. I then inquired about the Cheque card with the consultant and he laughs and says he forgot to apply for it. I did not take ownership of the cards and asked to speak to the manager. I did mention to the manager that it took a month to get my cards and I only received a credit card. I then asked him why does it take other banks to issue cards in 2 working days and I have to wait a month with Standard Bank. The manager then told me if I want to move to another bank I should do it. As a customer for 8 years, I don't feel I was treated appropriately. I would appreciate it someone can contact me regarding this issue!
