I called MiWay in January 2013 to cancel my policy. After making me wait 3 days for a senior consultant to call me back, he convinced me that I should rather put the policy on hold instead of cancelling, I agreed to this arrangement. He was able to do this immediately without a notice period. In the meantime I went looking for another insurance company to get a better premium. Nonetheless a debit order went off on my account without any confirmation from my side or MiWay. I called my way to enquire on this as I was under the impression that I would have to confirm the reinstatement by calling or in writing. After a long hold on the phone I eventually spoke to 2 people, a lady & his team leader Clement to request an immediate cancellation because I had not confirmed that they could go ahead with the reinstatement, they told me bluntly that this will not happen because I would have to give them 30 days cancellation notice, she also mentioned that even though they've debited my account I still don't have accident cover if my vehicle is not inspected. They were able to do this in January without the 30 days notice and now it cannot be done.
