ABSA, your internet banking system is SHOCKING!

ABSA is indeed delivering on their 2012 promise that their new internet banking system will deliver a different experience for your clients. Yes, it is different - it is SHOCKINGLY BAD and EXCRUCIATINGLY FRUSTRATING. It has been giving hassles since they first dumped the beta version on us, but they do not seem to have the corporate will (or ability) to actually do something to fix it.

So, to get to the latest hassles:
- Many users cannot sign on since earlier this week. They are in an endless loop of being taken back to the sign-on screen after they've signed on. For our business this meant that we could not pay our employees on time, because some of those who must authorise the payments cannot log on. According to the ABSA call centre they are flooded with this complaint at the moment. Why are they not fixing it?
- If you are running Windows 8, the ABSA system logs you off if you should dare to switch from the banking window to any other window. Soon millions of South Africans will be on Windows 8, do you think they could fix this before they have millions of complaints?
