I needed to upgrade my student account to a current account, which they assisted me with. Not fully explaining the various details involved and the person who helped me was more interested in gainging my sympathy for her illness rather than explaining the account to me. Needless to say in order to qualify for this account I had to come back into the branch to supply proof of my qualification (diploma) as they had first declined the request for the account, even though they recommeded it!! Then the whole process took forever to complete and I was told my card would take 7-10 WORKING DAYS to arrive! And I would have to collect it myself. Its been over a week and I'm STILL waiting to receive a call about my card. Its month end and I do not have access to my money because I do not have a card! I'm tired of the pathetic service that Standard Bank provides and I cannot wait to switch to FNB. Horrible, horrible service.
