My car was damaged in the hail storm on the East Rand in Nov 2012. Booked my car in with Global Hail for the repairs after Santam drive-in centre Attie insisted that it is the only company Santam has an agreement with in Gauteng capable of doing hail damage repairs. I wanted to make use of another repair center in Pta North. Attie would not switch claim on clients (my) request. Dropped car off at SilverStar Auto Body - Mercedez Benz approved repair centre in Waltloo on the 4th of Feb 2013.
My car has been in for repairs for over 7 full weeks. Initial enquiries from the three companies involved had different progress reports for the same day.
I am now tired of waiting for my vehicle to be repaired and would rather warn others that I will never ever make use of either Global Hail or SilverStar again, nor take my car to a place where Santam tells me to for repairs. Do I as the policy holder not have a choice of repair center?
