Handed Over for CLOSED Account!

On the 13th of March, 2013 I received an SMS from MBD Attorney-something or other, stating the following: Despite requests from MBDLA you failed to respond to the SMS re the notice of non-payment submitted to XDS. To clear your profile, call us on 011 560 4418.

I called their call centre only to find out that the account for which they were contacting me was an account that was settled and CLOSED.

How on earth can someone collect on a closed account?

I had closed the account and switch to a better bank... this is why, ABSA is TERRIBLE when it comes to customer service and client care!

Now, of course, the onus on me to fix their -up. MY credit report suffers with no consequences to them.

ABSA - provide feedback regarding how you plan on resolving this matter.
