Harrasment for Payment

I had a credit card with ABSA bank in 2003, unfortunately due to my liefstyle at that stage i fell behind on payment and eventually my account was in arrears.

I have managed to pay off this account in full after a numeber of years and closed the account in October 2011. I fully paid my account and closed it in a branch at N1 City Cape town. Two years later i receive a call from a collection company harrasing me for full payment of R1890 on my ABSA credit card account.

After i phoned ABSA bank in N1 City to querie this they confirm to me that the account has been paid in full and that i should ignore the threats received from this collection company. Two months down the line and i am still being contacted almost daily. Being Harrased for payment as ABSA bank has handed this account over for payment.

I find this absolutely rediculious considering that i have closed this account after paying every last cent i owed on it. Not to mention the fact that it influences my credit score when in future i would want to apply for any form of credit.

This needs to end as i am on the verge of requesting for legal support in this matter.
