I have been insured with Santam Insurance since the latter part of 2012. I constantly told them that I had plans to leave South Africa to work abroad and tried to get reassurance from them that all my household items, portable items and vehicles which remain in South Africa would continue to be covered. I email them two weeks before the 1 March 2013 to inform them that the payment will be late as financial transactions from overseas to South Africa takes a few days to reach the payee. Santam has now cancelled my insurance even though I have written proof that they have R3155 from me. I left South Africa because of crime, now even the insurance companies are from their clients. Is this what South Africa is slowly becoming? I can tell that I made the best decision to leave SA because it's slowly becoming like Zimbabwe. I want ANSWERS from Santam?? I want to know why you R3155 from me? I DEMAND that you to call me overseas? Don't give me your pathetic excuses about not being able to call me because you owe me a phone call to explain your actions??? Unhappy Santam Client.
