A pipe burst in my ceiling on the 12th of September 2012. The pressed ceilings were damaged and warped, the cupboards were soaked and the paint ruined in 3 rooms. This has been the LONGEST most TEDIOUS process I HAVE EVER had to deal with! firstly the assessors that came out were rude and unprofessional. We received a call from the insurance weeks later telling us the insurance would pay out half of what was claimed. They appointed a loss adjuster because we wouldn't accept the amount. Upon visiting our home the loss adjuster proceeded to tell my mother that the WARPED cupboards will shrink back into place once the water has dried out and there was no damage to the ceiling. I had 2 professionals come out and give quotes on the damage done to the ceilings (which I sent to the Standard Bank). The ceiling needs to be treated for rust and repinned! I asked for a payout breakdown but received not even a phone call! When they went into the ceiling the saw that the last "professionals" that Standard Bank had sent out, LEFT OUR ROOF OPEN! This was done about 2 years ago!

MY FAMILY WILL NEVER INSURE ANYTHING WITH STANDARD BANK!
