I opened an account through the website on the 26th of February and received a confirmation email stating that i only need to provide certain documents (ID and proof of residence) when the card will be delivered for me. No other communication was received until the 5th of November thorugh a sms requesting ID and proof of salary and requesting that I fax this to a number with a different reference number than given with my original application. Today when I followed up with FNB's call centre, they now have a range of info that is needed not mentioned in the original email or the SMS. They flatly refuse to send this request to me in email because they do not work on email and further stated that the process as soon as they receive the documents will take a further 7 working days before they can issue the account. Seem to me the advertisements and claims made in the press on how easy this process are, are blatant. I will not be banking with them.
