I have been a longtime and loyal customer of African Bank and this is my first complaint about them.
Today I went into the Fourways Mall branch to make an enquiry about a loan. Much to my surprise, it was declined. The consultant investigated and it turns out that a loan I had that was paid up in full in November 2012, was never closed by the back office / admin people. The consultant phoned through to ask them to resolve this immediately so she could proceed with my application, only to be told to 'log a call and we'll get to it by the 8th'. I am so angry at the level of apathy and disinterest - they've had three months to do their job and failed, and now I must wait and be disadvantaged by their incompetence? You'd think they'd be eager to rectify what is an administrative error on their side?
Disappointing and frustrating to me, embarrasing to the consultant who was trying her utmost to help, only to hit a brick wall.
