Closing of Credit Card

I personally went to ABSA Horizon View Branch, Johannesburg to close all my existing ABSA accounts in January 2013, including my Credit Card. The response from them was that I should phone them again to log a query. Why should I phone ABSA to generate a query when I personally went to the Horizon View branch in Johannesburg to close my credit card?
How many prompts or phone calls does ABSA need in order to do a task?
They informed me that ABSA would phone me to confirm the cancellation, and not the other way around.
I still get regular sms messages for my (closed) credit card statement.
I am very unhappy about the service, this is unacceptable and shocking.
