Paid up account but still receive statements

I January I emailed this company proof of payment of a paidup Homechoice account for my mom that she paid in 2010 already. They however keep on sending letters to her with s higher interst of outstanding account. Homechoice handed this account to this attorneys in 2010 October and my mom paid it up in December 2010 with the attorneys then. Only 2yrs later this attorneys do a follow-up and demand now a payment with the interest
