I decided to open a new FNB cheque account as per their promotion, opening the account online was easy, however when i tried to get a letter of confirmation that the account belongs to me at the Clear water branch they suddenly couldnt help me.
SINCE WHEN IS A CERTIFIED COPY OF AN ID NOT VALID ANYWHERE???
the consultant simply looked at me and said he cant help me without an id... A CERTIFIED COPY IS THE SAME THING!!!
Thank the lord that after THREE hours on the phone with different department of the call centre, being passed around more than a rugby ball on match day i finally spoke to a supervisor named Raeesa Van Der Merwe, who was finally able to assist me with my confirmation letter after i had sent it to four differnt people as well as the MYBRANCH.
I find it extrelly hard to believe that a bank will not accept certified documents when every other place that requires an ID document or passport will.
I used to love fnb for their easy access online, but its not worth this again. i will closing my business account with fnb tomorrow as well as my personal account, because i will not go through this nonsense again!
