The thought of opening an account online is very appealing. However, this is NOT AT ALL POSSIBLE with FNB. I have been into a branch 3 times- to change my debit orders, to try understand why my account is not opened and to take my FICA documents as they would not accept (and still do not accept) my certified original copy of my marriage certificate.

In addition to this, no one told me that I had to "activate" my account my putting in a R20 deposit- CASH DEPOSIT at an ATM or that I had to register online at an ATM.

I have not unfortunately moved all my debit orders and have to proceed with the opening of this account. It has been an absolute nightmare and disaster and now I know why I have not opened this account before.

I urge everyone not to waste their effort and time opening an FNB account. It is pathetic and the advertising is misleading and false!!!
