I have a shortfall on a bond account, signed an acknowledgement of debt and debit order. Followed up with ABSA on 17 October 2012 and told its in recoveries, the amount will be deducted monthly. Heard NOTHING from ABSA until 31 Jan 2013 where they deducted R5000.00 from my account. After the deduction they sent an SMS to say they have deducted. I tried frivolously to contact the department to no avail, I also have a job. then on 15 Feb 2013 R 7300.00 was deducted same story as above. SMS sent saying R 7300.00 taken and another SMS saying that R 2000.00 taken. So over a period of 2 weeks R 14 300.00 taken. No communication whatsoever. Further I was left with nothing in my bank account. When I eventually got hold of "Gofdfrey" he advised that he has his "reservations about taking money without permission, it could be illegal but hey it gets the customer to phone." Disgusting. Even when i said i will close all my accounts i was basically wish well. Today i receive a call from Credit Card to ask why i have not made a payment (first tine ever) i explain the above situation and advise when resolved will pay. The agents tells me well it will be taken off your account today!
