I have a credit card with ABSA which is currently in arrears. As I get calls from their collections department every other day - an arrangement was made to pay the minimum amount due of R 3118 at the end of this week.
Today I log onto my online banking, and see that they have deducted an amount of R 3118 from my savings account without my authorization! This is money that does not belong to them and that I have to live off for the rest of the month. I do not have a debit order in place!
When I called into their credit card collections department, I was told that there is no notes on the system of any arrangement made with them. This is a lie! Its not my fault that their staff are incompetent on capturing information on the system. Honestly, I have tried to call into their collections department to speak to a manager, but to no avail. I have wasted so much of my time thus far and feel like utterly helpless.
ABSA now refuses to reverse the transaction and place the money back into my savings account.
I would appreciate if this could be resolved by close of business today please.
