Standard Bank
Insurance claim

I submitted two claims to SIL on the 22 October 2012 for wind and rain damage on my house. I spoke to a Mrs. Mbedi and Mr. Akshaar Singh but no answers yet. I have send 13 e-mails to these people and SIL since the 22 October 2012 until the 13 February 2013. I am working away from my home and only go home for a week every 2nd month but had to go during October 2012 until January 2013.During this period I did not hear anything from Standard Bank Insurance. During The second week of January 2013 they eventually sent a assessor to investigate without me present at the time and my sick wife to assist him. I did hire two contractors to repair the damages to my house in October 2012 already because of the poor service and reaction time of Standard Bank. I am still waiting for a reply from Standard Bank after the visit of the assessor. After banking 28 years with one of the top financial institutions in South Africa it is just incredible to see them going down to a real 3rd world business. Phone calls, e-mails and the repairs, cost me a lot of hard earning cash already. What is the next step, going to court? More legal fees? Do you understand the frastration of the man on the street?
