My father passed away on the 11th of January 2013. Ever since then we have been struggling non stop to get Sanlam to pay out a policy. Neither us, our broker or lawyer have been able to get the process resolved. Each time they come back with another story and more paper work now needed. The latest now is that we have to supply them with income and expense statements as well as list of assets and liabilities for each of the beneficiaries. As well as the aforementioned of our mother to whom he was married and divorced for 4 years. How can this be relevant to a policy that is required to be paid out?!
This is an outrage and completely unprofessional. Next they probably going to require we take DNA tests to prove that we are related and through in our clothing sizes while we at it...
