An amount came off my cr card for R100 on 28/12/12, payment made in Capetown. I live 18hours from Capetown&have not been there in2years.
So this amount had either come off my account because of someone using my acc no &pin (I am the only person that knows my pin) or someone else's payment was incorrectly debited to my account.
I filled out my Letter of dispute on 09/01/2013, wanting to know details of the R100.By 22/01/2013 I had not received a reply as yet so I forwarded the letter once again. Well anyway, I get a reply back two days later (now a total of 2weeks, even though I was told they'd reply within 3-5days). The email boldly states:
"The charge for retrieval of the unkown R100 payment is R62"
You gotta be joking. So I'm actually fighting for a R38? Not taking into account bank charges I have to pay for reversal and deposit back into my account. So I take it that its fair to say from the R100 that was mistakenly taken off my account, I will receive about a R20-25 back. I replied to say FNB can take that R100 &have a party. I am shocked at the absurdity of the charge! And no, I dont want a reply to this complaint, just to make aware my dissatisfaction.
