Indwe Risk Services
Misleading Claims Payout

On 7 Jan 2013 my Merc A Class' received extensive water damage. On 16 Aug 2012 the car had an insured value of R110 000.

The car was written off on 5 Feb 2013. Today, Indwe advised that the car's book value was R97 000. When asked why the book value had dropped so significantly in 6 months they first said: 'There was a deduction for damages'. When asked what they meant by 'damages', they couldn't say. Then I was told it was because of 'extras' -- i.e. because of the Avant Garde trim on the car. The insurance policy clearly states it's an A class with Avant Garde trim. ONLY when I pointed this out did Maria Lopez want to up the payout as if she was doing me a favour!

I find this unacceptable. Indwe Risk Services are too happy to have you pay premiums that are higher than they need to be, only for them to reduce the amount they payout to unwitting consumers. Be careful!
