I have had my debit card (cheque acc) for approx 7 years and have never experienced the problem that when my card is swiped by the merchant, it only goes off my acc after 3 or more days. No sms is received and funds are not in reserve for that transaction. So when I check my balance, I am under the impression that I have a certain amount of money in my account. But then, I'm suddenly overdrawn (OBVIOUSLY costs are for my own account!!!). This started happening in December, and it's still happening with certain merchants.
So that's the main issue here.
But when I phone FNB and even visited my branch to enquire about this ridiculous change to their system, I'm told that its always been like this, and I should manage my account better, and its not from their side. Absolutely unacceptable shocking service and change to their system without notifying their staff and customers. I cannot continue to run my business with a bank that cant get their systems sorted out and provide the corect banking facilities... This is debit card, not a cheque book!!!
