First National Bank
FNB makes me PAY for THEIR system issues

I am completely disgusted with FNB, and the unscrupulous way in which they do business. Every time I swipe my card at a petrol station, I get a sms saying that the amount has been reserved for purchase. The sms also shows that my cheque account balance has reduced. The problem? The MONEY ISN'T RESERVED FOR PURCHASE. The transaction will only be processed in a few days, and if any other transactions happened during that time, my account becomes overdrawn and FNB charges me a R 57 penalty fee. This is disgusting. PLEASE don't shift the blame on to the merchants, because this is NOT HAPPENING because they "do their banking later". If the money was reserved for purchase, HOW WAS I ABLE TO MAGICALLY re-use it? I respectfully request for all these charges to be reversed as quickly as possible, or I will lay a complaint with the banking ombudsman.. I am also completely shocked at the excessive fees that are being charged to my account. Every time I use cellphone banking to do a cardless withdrawal from an ATM, I get charged R 16, PLUS R 65 a month ON TOP OF THAT? Not to mention the "free" statements that you can download via internet banking, which you ALSO get charged for???
