I registered a claim with absa for rain water damage to my house and roof.
I was not contacted about this at all, I had to phone them. Then I was told that the leaking roof was for my own expense. The person handling the claim was not available at the time as well. One of her colleagues informed me then that she had a look at the photographs that accompanied the claim, and she was sure that they would re the claim and discuss the inside damage to my house and make a decision on this. Up until today I had no feedback about this, except for me calling them once more. This is after about a month since I logged the claim, and that the investigating person was at my house taking the photos. So I was told today that the claim was declined and the letter about this was in the post. I am unhappy the way this claim was handled and no reasons was given to my why it was declined and on what grounds. So in essential fact why do I pay for the insurance policy on the bond? If this is the way absa goes about their business then they are going to lose clients.
