Taken out policies from Standard Bank via Mr Sam Appalsamy with Liberty Life in 2003.The policies were a buy and sell policy and a bond cover policy. I was informed by the broker that the buy and sell policy will have a death cover, disability and a critical illness cover and the bond cover was inflation linked. I had suffered a stemi (heart attack) in 2012 and was paid R500 000.00 iro the bond cover and nothing from the buy and sell cover. I questioned the broker about the outcome and from then Standard bank pushed the buck to liberty life and liberty pushed the buck to Standard Bank. I complained to the Ombudsman for long term insurance and they say this policies were taken out before there existence therefore they cannot help.
