On 14 August l applied for a Liberty Life Policy through Standard Bank which will be effective from September and selected the 15th of each month as a debit date. I had tests done on 28 Aug and further assessment were done by Dorothy from Liberty, and the policy was concluded on 1 September. I still don't have the policy documents but my account has been debited twice on 4 Sept and 16 Sept. I emailed Amorine (consultant for Liberty at Standard Bank- Hatfield) on 5 Sept to ask about the debit and she said its for September l wont have another debit for this month. But on 17 Sept l sent another email when the second debit had gone through and she replied me and said the first debit was for August, yet the provisional policy document says my policy commences on 1/09/2013. She has not responded to my query and seems to have vanished into thin air. Why would the bank sell me a product that ends up seeming like a ponsie scheme? Why should l pay for August when my contract says my policy cover starts on 1/09/2013? My lawyer thinks this is a breach of contract, and we want to take legal action.
