Changing conditions without notification

I have been using the Internet Banking facilities of Absa Bank. In the past notifications of Payments and deposits by SMS to my cellphone was only available on request by a client. All of a sudden (appears to be from November 2013, charges came through on my cheque account for internet charges. When I querried these charges I was informed that the website was changed and on default a notification of payments was sent to client by SMS.
This, in my opinion, was a unilateral decision by Absa. I was charged for three months before These entries was picked up by me. How many other customers was done in and still is.
Officials at the bank passes this on as a act by head office.
