I had a loan with Nedbank back in 2008, due to a strike we had at the company I work for. I applied for debt review till things go back to normal, only to later find out the debt review people were and the company didn't exist. All my debts (including Nedbank) were sent to my HR and were paid via garnishee order till all their amounts have been payed. Last year (around June) I got a call from lawyers in Jhb representing Nedbank telling me that I owe them R15k, when I asked what it was for cause I have paid off their loan. They said it was interest of around R300 that has accumulated from 2010 till last year. I asked the lady how come they didn't put it together with the loan and she said it was with the loan but was stopped by my HR (which is impossible) and I asked her why I wasn't informed, she said they didn't have my details even then they had to search for them (of which I am still using the same details ever since). She sent me and my HR a copy of a letter informing that the amount will be payed via garnishee order. It has caused a strain financially because I applied for debt review, after having to work 2 or 3 weeks of the month, due to low stock sales and our warehouse being full.
