Our company was sold/ taken over effective 1/11/13. A broker from AF explained our options to us as we could not transfer our fund credit from the pension fund of our previous employer to the Provident fund of the new company. All documentation were completed & submitted (hand delivery) end of October. We were told it would take 3 months max for the process to be finalised. No updates were received; on 17 Jan '14 my previous employer confirmed that the transfer took place to Alexander Forbes. I phoned AF offices and were told it will take 3 working days to reflect on their side. My next follow up was on 20 Jan with the broker that visited our offices. Withdrawal forms were emailed to me as per request & the assistant provided some info pertaining to a 2 week period after transfer for the individual membership/Policy no: to be generated. On 24 January AF could not confirm my fund credit or Membership number (i phoned 3 different offices, none were helpful and referred me elsewhere). Followed up again today, still no feedback/ no membership number, new time frame of another 15 working days. Due to a lack in service; almost all staff now consider withdrawal of their full fund credit.
