Reversal Policy - Penalised for making a mistake

Hi there,

Now dont get me wrong I know there are probably systems in place that you cant get around, and I am happy with FNB service thus far. I also admit that I am at fault for this mistake, however I made this post as I feel that this process is totally unfair!

I recently made a payment via online banking for the amount of R260, but to my dismay I have learnt that this was to the wrong account number. Now my complaint comes in to the fact that I need to pay R225 to have this reversed and then there is no guarantee that I would receive the funds back? I mean can you see whats wrong with this picture??

All I can be thankful for is that fact it was a large amount. Basically all i'm saying is I made a mistake, and now you want to penalise me for making this mistake? I just feel that there has to be a better way to handle this, without the person incurring costs for their mistake?

Because at this juncture I feel I just have to write that money off now, as my bank who I trust wont help me without charging me.

So thank you FNB for nothing.
