It has now happened to me twice at 2 different stores. I asked the teller to please check amount on gift card and use it towards my purchase and i would pay difference with my Woolworth card. The teller uses gift card and Woolworth's card, takes the gift card (throws away) only when I sign the slips do I see that the wrong amount has been put through so in fact money would of been from me if I had not seen it.
It should be store policy to return the gift card to the customer just in case a mistake is made but I'm now convinced it is NOT A MISTAKE.
When I called a supervisor to complain the second time it happened he was not even apologetic and made out like it was nothing.
