My name is Johannes Modiba. I have a Revolving Credit Plan with FNB and I was informed that if I take money from it and I don't re-pay it by the 25th then the bank will deduct R479.00 from my account in payday until the balance is settled. However if I settle the balance before they deduct the money then they wont deduct any money. On the 25th before the bank touched my account, I have settled the balance of this loan with the remaining R1000.00 and I paid interest of something like R11.00 and closed the balance to R17000.00.
However the bank still deducted my R479.00 to this loan despite the account being settled. I do not understand why is this. To make it worse I went to the branch at OR Tambo Airport and they had to make me call the relevant department. I have been holding on the line for almost 20min until I had to leave.
I do not find this acceptable and having the bank deducting money from my account and who must do all the efforts? Me, the customer. I must be calling and wasting more time. I want to understand why money was still deducted and I expect someone to give me a call soon with the solution of how this will be sorted out and when will my money be returned.
