This complaint is overdue. My husband and I bank with FNB. Eight months ago, we applied for a bond with FNB on an investment flat. We did not get the bond, as FNB did not find value in the area. We could have bought the flat on our credit card if we wanted! FNB was willing to finance a credit card with a huge limit, but not finance an investment property - where there is an asset to attach to a loan.
I have just applied to FNB for a bond on the property we are buying to live in. We have received bond grant - with an insulting rate!!! I emailed our private banker (who is the only reason we still bank with you). She has advised she can't negotiate as we used a bond originator.
FNB - why should we have to beg you for a decent interest rate? Why must I negotiate? Surely you would want to keep your clients happy as you make money out of us???
People beware - FNB is nothing more then a bank with horrible high interest rates with a FREE IPAD! I am shocked.
I must also comment - ABSA gave us a bond on our investment flat - with a fantastic rate - because we banked with them three years ago. I guess we are going back!!!
People - don't be deceived by their advertising!!!
