This specific branch of ABSA, Monumentpark, Pretoria, really has the ability to irritate me. I go to them since they are the closest branch to my residence.
I have 2 daughters, and had a Target Save account for each. We received notifications, the investments matures on 24 June 2013. We decided to not renew these investments, but rather invest into Unit Trust.
My husband tried to open the Unit Trust at this branch, but that was too much to ask and the officials at the enquiry counter had this look like they never heard to word Unit Trust before, and the lack of interest was shocking. We then decided to open it through Emails to the Unit Trust dept of ABSA, and got very good service there.
Ok, so the accounts are open. Now I had to visit this branch. I do not have enough space here to outline the pathetic service. But bottom line, they refused that we close the accounts, unless we pay a penalty fee of R287 on one account, the other one I don't know how much.
We refused to pay it, bottom line, was forced to keep the accounts open, and leave R100 in them.
ABSA, does this sound logical to you and how will I encourage my kids to save with ABSA again?
