I had a call this morning from a person claiming to be from Nedbank in connection with my card that is about to expire. The person did not even have my correct first name. The person then requested my personal details in order to verify who I am. I then refused as the call could be from anyone and I have no way of knowing that call really comes from the Nedbank. I told them that I would go to me nearest branch and arrange for my new card myself. In the past I used to just get a call to confirm which branch the card needs to be delivered to. I am not sure if this is a legitimate call from Nedbank and if it is then the process is flawed as anyone can call customers of Nedbank purporting to be calling from the bank asking them to verify their details with which can commit. You cannot collect your card without proper identification anyways so I dont see the need for this ridiculous new process. You are calling me. Why should I need to verify myself? I have seen the service go from bad to worse at Nedbank over the years while the fees go up. It is things like this that make me want to take my business elsewhere.
