I have a debit order for insurance which I am trying to cancel. I went to ABSA Woodhill, where the person at customer services told me I cannot cancel in advance; I have to wait for the company to deduct again, then I can have the charges reversed. I have contacted the relevant company (Nedbank card Division Call Centre) to cancel in December last year. This money was deducted again laast night. Can ABSA not protect my money pro-actively? Do I have to wait for my money to be taken every time, then ask ABSA to reverse every time? Or is this just a way to force me to incur banking charges?
