On the 13 Dec 2013 without notification Capitec debited my absa bank account for my loan repayment, this was done prior to the deduction date of the 20th.
All my funds were deducted from my absa bank account, i called the Call centre and the consultant then reversed the payment back into my capitec account as mentioned it would take 7 days to reverse pmt back into my Absa bank account. every day the capitec account was tracked and the funds was taken and reversed until one of the consultants mentioned that i should draw all the funds from the capitec account.
On the 20 Dec 2013 Absa bank dedcuted the difference of the loan replayment as they honored the debit order. From my side i was under the false impression that Capitec would be deducting their loan repayment on the 20th. I did not know that the debit for Dec 2013 was not requested. I asked the 2nd consultant i spoke too if they weill debit the account on the 20 Dec 2013 and he confirmed that they would, therefore i was not perturbed that i drew all the funds from the Capitec account.
on the 27 Dec i received a call from a Call centre consultant demanding i make a payment. I mentioned that the payment went of the 13th -it was reversed and according to me it shoudve deducted the 20 Dec 2013.
The lady mentioned they have no payment reflecting on the screen from Absa, and that i need to get a bank statement.
i was hospitilised the 27-29 December 2013. The following week i went to the Capitec brackenfell branch and the lady showed me that they could not pick up the Absa payment. Also showed me the reversals done and the interest amount added to my account because of the non payment.
I only then checked to see that the absa account was debited but that was the 13.12.2013 and thereafter no further debits were done on the 20.12.2013., which according to me sshouldve deducted as Capitec never received their payment ie reversal into capitec account. Now Capitec calls daily wanting to know what arrangements i can make iro the outstanding payment. Should the bank not have deducted the payment they shudve deducted on the 20th the correct bank deduction date. they never and now i am being called non stop in order to make arrangements for pmts, I do not have funds for a ouble deduction to go off from my bank account. I will make arrangement suitable to what i can afford as according to me if Capitec went into my bank account on the 20 Dec 2013 this would not have happend. an amount of R2555.00 interrest added because of non payment was added, yet if i make the payment of the outstanding amount they will not reverse the interest amount. Why?? i need someone to clarify why they went into my bank account without informing me on the 13.12.2013, and not with the agreed date received by my company for the 20.12.2013. Also why if the system on Capitecs side did not detect the payment on the 20.12.2013 did it not deduct . there was sufficient money in my bank account for that deduction.
