I told you so!

I phoned RCS Cards yesterday to settle my account and close it as it's the biggest rip-of ever. The gentleman gave me the settlement amount and I also asked him to provide it on paper and email it to me. He told me that I will receive it in 48 hours. I told him that I need it the same day as the settlement amount will differ. He assured me that it would not be and that we can use the call recording as proof.

I made the payment of R404.01 yesterday and when I received the letter today - what I told them would happened came true... a different settlement value on paper - R404.42. Pretty useless!

I also requested that they send me my last two years statements as they discontinued to do so - I paid about R1400 during the time and my principal amount only reduced by about R150. Really daylight - steer clear from RCS as their costs and interest rates are way too high.

Thank goodness for the Consumer Protection Act - time to take RCS to task.
