Motor Finance Corporation
Incorrect definition/ understanding of SETTLEMENT

My dad phoned for a settlement amount on his car with MFC --> zunaid at the call centre told him that he had to pay R6434.69 by the 4/09/2013 to settle this account. This amount was paid in by myself on the 29/08/2013. I tried calling Antonette Hlatswayo at MFC but there is an issue with her extension and for some reason she was not responding to my emails. I left a message with Shaun and she called me only to tell me that my dad had to pay in another R2517.69 to settle this account as the last installment was not included in the settlement figure given to my dad. According to Antonette the call centre would have informed him of this and she insisted that he was sent an sms (which he did not receive) stating that his settlement was R8952.69.I requested the recording from the call centre and all she did was email me the call centre number, this does not help me much. My dad is 60 years old, settlement to him and settlement to myself means just that -->this is the amount that you need to pay to close your account. Please assist with the correct figure given to my dad 11 days ago. And we will not be paying for their poor communication skills
